Issaquah Real Estate

Issaquah is one of the fastest growing cities in Washington state. Originally known for being a mining and lumber city until the Great Depression, the city benefited from these booming industries. Things remained somewhat quiet until the later 1900’s when larger companies moved in and had a great positive effect on the town. The Boeing Company and Microsoft were the first to provide much of the employment in the area. By 1996, Costco had relocated its global headquarters from Kirkland to Issaquah adding even more opportunity for the residents.

The three neighboring mountains include Cougar, Tiger and Squak. Known as the Issaquah Alps, they offer hiking and outdoor activity for the locals. The city also offers cultural and historic activities as well as outdoor fun. The Salmon Days Festival, a nod to the fish returning to their birth waters, is a celebration including parades, arts and crafts that spans over a two day period. Additional highlights include the Cougar Mountain Zoo where one can view endangered species from across the globe as well as Gilman Village where there is great shopping and fine dining establishments to enjoy.
